Intense love does not measure, it just gives. Mother Teresa Dear Friends, According to Hallmark, February is considered the LOVE month. I beg to differ with Hallmark. I believe it’s the month in which we focus on the sacrificial gift that was given to us through Christ’s death. Throughout the New Testament Jesus speaks about giving whether it be of love, time or finances. In the book of Luke chapter 21:1-4 reads, “Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box. He also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. He said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all offered their gifts out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in everything she had to live on.” As I read this passage my staff come to mind; they are individuals who on a daily basis, give sacrificially to at-risk children, youth and families. During our staff prayer time requests frequently come up for different youth dealing with painful issues, families struggling to stay together and children who feel all alone. Yet, I’m reminded about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf. This Easter, will you pray and consider what God may be asking you to give to His lost and lonely kids? Can we hear from you by March 31st? Thank you for you continued support of City Impact as we love on God’s kids. Because of Him, Betty Alvarez Ham President Comments are closed.
