"Each of us should lead a life stirring enough to start a movement. We should yearn to change the world. We should love unquenchably, dream unfalteringly, and work unceasingly." Max Lucado Dear Friends, On Memorial Day - Kevin got up early to proudly hang our American Flag. My heart is always stirred by those young men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our freedom. They were individuals who yearned to change the world and they did. On Memorial weekend I asked myself the question that Francis Schaefer once asked, "then how should we live?" Everyday, we are bombarded with political rhetoric, the 24-hour news cycle, people are telling us what to believe and how we should vote. Yet, in the stillness of my morning with a hot cup of coffee, I quiet my heart and mind and I believe truth is revealed. We should defend the value of people, proclaim the forgiveness of God, and claim the promise of heaven. I am not the best person; I struggle with my ego, I am not always a loving wife or a patient mother. I sometimes react rather than respond. But, I do want to live a stirring life as Max Lucado speaks about. I want to cause a movement. A movement that occurs when one person, no greater or lesser than those who have gone before, lives a forceful life in the fullness of promise. I want to love on kids and inspire them so that they can change the world and cause a movement. Through scripture, I have found the true mark of a visionary is their willingness to lay down their life for those whom they'll never see. I don't know if I will ever see this movement come to fruition in my lifetime or our daughter's or her kids, but I hope so. But, then how shall I live? I will know that there is a purpose to all of us and that movement is now - and is occurring. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support of City Impact – it truly makes a difference.
