See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands . . . Isaiah 49:16 Dear Friends, I grew up in a Latino family of five kids with cousins that lived in and out of our house. Many times, when my mother would call out for a particular kid, in frustration she would go through a litany of names before getting to the one who she wanted. It was not that she forgot our names, but eventually your name would come out. I love the above scripture that states our name is engraved on his hands. Wow, more than written or tattooed, but engraved. Engraving is a process in which lines are cut into a particular surface many times by copper or zinc and then polished to remove the scratches and imperfections. What scripture illustrates here is how valuable our name is to God – he has engraved it on the palms of his hands. During this pandemic, I have spent many hours in worship and prayer to try to get perspective and balance during these trying circumstances. One morning, I was introduced to this song “He Knows My Name”. Allow me to share a few of the lyrics He knows my name Yes He knows my name And oh how He walks with me Yes oh how He talks with me And oh how He tells me That I am His own You know my name And oh how You comfort me And oh how You counsel me Yet it still amazes me That I am Your friend So now, I pour out My heart to You Here in Your presence I am made new Let me encourage you during these difficult times that God knows your name and He wants to walk and talk to you. His desire is to comfort you and give you counsel, not only that, he calls you his friend. Thank you for your continued love and financial support during these times and please know we are uplifting you in our prayers. Because of Him, Betty Alvarez Ham President P.S.
