"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie Dear Friends,
When Kevin and I were young parents we were diligent about teaching Chelsea to say “please” when requesting something and respond by saying “thank you”. I believe that Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Melody’s quote has been etched into my heart and mind – especially through these trying times of COVID. The other day, I mentioned to Kevin, you know there is a lot we can be thankful for during this time. Kevin had this look of questioning on his face. I then responded because of COVID:
These are just a few, I literally can go on and on. Every morning before Kevin leaves to work, we hold hands and pray together and it begins with our hearts filled with thanksgiving. Yes, we may experience obstacles, but I know we will also experience opportunities. This month of Thanksgiving – please know how much we love and appreciate you all. May God bless you beyond measure. With much Gratitude, Betty Alvarez Ham President |
