Stay in the Word. Pray, every day. And don’t worry too much about what's next. Lisa Whittle Dear Friends,
It has been a turbulent week! I cannot believe it has been since March 17th that COVID-19 shut down schools, business’ and places of worship, let alone all the riots and protests in our streets. People were hiding out in their homes not seeing family or friends, rescheduling weddings, funerals or any other social events because of this deadly virus. Fear, anger, resentment and angst penetrated our country let alone our world. As I woke up on Tuesday, November 3rd, to be honest with you, I dreaded the day and what it would entail. I received texts & calls from dear friends in law enforcement to ask for me to cover our men and women in blue in my prayers. Chelsea and I met up for our morning walk and she asked, “Mom, how are you feeling?” Baby, I responded, I know GOD is control but I feel a bit melancholy. “That’s why it’s good that we are meeting tonight for JAW (Jesus, Appetizers & Wine).” Which was so true; that day I studied for JAW and low and below it was on Daniel. Yes, way back then Daniel and his buddies faced political pressures that affected Israel and he stood tall. He stayed in the word and prayed everyday - then left it up to GOD. That Tuesday night, there wasn’t a better place to be. We, JAW ladies all made a commitment to steep ourselves in God’s word and pray daily for our families and country. Honestly, I do not know what we will face ahead - but, my goal is not to worry too much of what is next. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 Because of Him, Betty Alvarez Ham President P.S.
