Dear Friends,
 
In 1971, Judith Viorst wrote a book entitled Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  It is a story is about a young boy, Alexander, who is having a particularly bad day.  Because of his lovable crabbiness, kids and adults can empathize with his plight.  Whatever the reason, it is one of those books which we can relate. 
 
To be candid with you, I have had not just one day but two weeks.  Before I launched into the third week of my pity party, God gently but, firmly reminded me of his words:
 

• The LORD is my shepherd I will I lack nothing, He will meet my needs when I am worried
• He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He will teach me to relax when I’m stressed out.
• He refreshes my soul, He will replenish my strength when I am empty.
• He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake, He will guide me when I am confused.
• Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, He will walk with me in my dark and fearful days.
• Your rod and your staff, they comfort me, He will protect me when I feel insecure.
• You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, He will publicly show his favor on my life.
• You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows, He will give me abundance.
• Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, He will be good to me no matter what happens.
• And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever – He will take me to heaven one day.

 
Some of you may think, Betty for as long as you have been a follower of Christ why would you doubt or be fearful – because I am human just like all of you.  But, the cool thing is that God is our GOOD SHEPHERD and he will always be with us.  Thank you for your love and prayers for the work of City Impact – you do make a difference.
