MIKE DARCY, Marriage & Family Therapist Intern
Mike is retired military with 24 years of service currently providing mental health services for adolescent and young adults at the school site, Juvenile Facility, and at the City Impact Counseling Center.
Mike joined City Impact at the end of 2013 initially providing therapeutic services to all school-aged kids as part of the EPSDT program. Later, he began counseling with our at-risk, and adjudicated youth as part of the Transformation Works Ventura County, providing therapeutic and Anger Management counseling. Additionally, Mike works with high school age youth as part of the Student and Families Empowered (SAFE) program providing counseling services to students with Individualized Education Program (IEP).
More recently, Mike has become Equine certified as Mental Health Specialist, utilizing horses in therapeutic setting to work with our youth within Juvenile Justice System, active-duty military/veterans, and victims of trauma.
Mike is currently studying for licensure, and anticipates becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist this year. He’s married, and part of a “modern family” encompassing 6 adult children, and 7 grandchildren
